objective

The NIRSA Florida Summit provides the opportunity to network with students and professionals in campus recreation and learn valuable skills from peers and experts from across the state. In 2022, the annual NIRSA Florida Summit was hosted by Florida International University's Campus Recreation. Despite being a last-minute addition, I was brought on to the team responsible for organizing the event.

As part of the event planning team, I was responsible for branding and producing materials for the NIRSA Florida Summit 2022, ensuring the consistent use of FIU's brand and visually capturing the energy of South Florida.

the process

The abstract tropical design elements, combined with FIU's brand colors, were inspired by South Florida's diverse environment for the summit. I joined the team just two and a half weeks before the event, and quick decision-making and effective collaboration with staff and print vendors were critical. Due to budget constraints, I had to come up with creative solutions, including self-printing and hand-cutting over 100 name badges, to ensure we stayed within budget and met the deadlines.

Printed Media: Name badges, retractable banners, table signage, breakout room signs.

Digital Assets: Summit website on Cascade, presentation slide deck template, promotional video showcasing FIU's campus recreation.

Video Production: With constraints on time and resources, a self-narrated video was shot and edited to highlight the facilities, programs, and services of FIU's campus recreation within a week. To save time, videos shot during the pandemic were included.

Website: A hub for summit details, including schedule, parking, hotel info, vendor details, facilitator sign-up, and registration.

Name Badges: Distinct badges for staff and attendees with QR-coded schedules for easy access.

Roundtable Facilitation: Marketing discussion to share and gather best practices.
